Abbas "congratulates" released Palestinian prisoner terrorist and attempted suicide-bomber Rami Ibrahim Khalil Hijazi

Rami Hijazi – Algerian-born terrorist and Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (Fatah’s military wing) member who attempted to carry out a suicide bombing in Be’er Sheva on May 1, 2002. Hijazi was arrested together with a Palestinian terrorist accomplice on their way to carry out the attack at an Israeli checkpoint in the Gaza Strip. The two had 90 kg. of explosives in suicide belts in their car. Previously Hijazi together with a relative shot and wounded an Israeli civilian driving in a car and shot at an Israeli border police vehicle on Feb. 20, 2002. Hijazi served 20 years in prison and was released on April 30, 2022.
