Israel "murders Palestinians systematically" according to Representative of Palestine at the UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour

Headline: “Mansour: The life of every Palestinian is in danger in the shadow of the barbaric and illegal occupation”

“Permanent Representative of Palestine at the UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour emphasized that the life of every Palestinian is in danger every day in the shadow of this barbaric and illegal occupation, which is trampling our people’s right to live, murdering them systematically, wounding them, and causing them disabilities, while enjoying a lack of punishment.

Ambassador Mansour said this in three identical letters that he sent yesterday [June 6, 2022] to UN Secretary-General [António Guterres, UN] Security Council president for the current month (Albania) [parentheses in source], and UN General Assembly President [Abdulla Shahid], regarding the fact that Israel – the colonialist occupying power and the apartheid state – is continuing to negate the Palestinian people’s freedom and dignity. He noted that this proves its complete disregard for the lives of Palestinians, and that the occupation forces have murdered 70 Palestinian civilians since the start of 2022.

In this context, Mansour noted that the occupation forces shot Palestinian journalist Ghufran Warasneh (i.e., terrorist, attempted to stab Israeli soldiers), 31, on June 1 [2022] next to the entrance to the Al-Aroub refugee camp in Hebron, which caused her death as a Martyr. He directed attention to the false claim that she ‘carried a knife,’ which the occupation made to justify her murder. [He added:] ‘These claims are debunked by reports of eyewitnesses, in addition to the lack of any reliable evidence’ (sic., Warasneh’s knife was documented at the scene at the attempted attack).”

Ghufran Warasneh – 31-year-old female Palestinian terrorist who attempted to stab Israeli soldiers near the Al-Aroub refugee camp in Gush Etzion in the West Bank on June 1, 2022. The soldiers shot and killed Warasneh in self-defense. Warasneh was previously arrested in January 2022 and imprisoned for three months after attempting to commit a stabbing attack at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron.
