Al-Aqsa preacher calls for Ribat in the mosque

Approximately 50,000 [Muslim] worshippers held Friday prayers yesterday [Aug. 5, 2022] at the Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas…

Al-Aqsa Mosque preacher Sheikh Muhammad Salim spoke from the Saladin Al-Ayyubi pulpit about the Jewish extremists’ demand to take control of the Mughrabi Gate and prevent the Muslims from praying at the Al-Aqsa Mosque (sic., of the Temple Mount’s 11 non-sealed gates Muslims can enter through 10 while non-Muslims are only permitted to enter through the Mughrabi Gate; apparently refers to calls to visit the site for Tisha B’av on Aug. 7, 2022).

He demanded that the Muslims from Jerusalem and those who can reach the Al-Aqsa Mosque come to it and carry out Ribat in it (i.e., religious conflict over land claimed to be Islamic), in order to defend the site’s sanctity against the occupation’s greed.”

Tisha B'Av - Jewish day of mourning commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem (586 BCE and 70 CE) and the forced exile of most of the Jewish people from the land of Israel.
