Palestinian terrorists lauded and falsely justified at Ramallah event broadcast by PA TV

Official PA TV, live broadcast from the mourners’ tent established in Ramallah for the “Martyrs” of the violent Arab riots; see note below

Unknown speaker 1: “On May 16, 2021, in Jerusalem, young Shaher Mahmoud Abu Khadija (i.e., terrorist, wounded 6) from the town of Al-Ram died as a Martyr. He was killed in cold blood by the occupation forces’ bullets. He lived with his elderly parents; [the Israelis] claimed that he carried out a car ramming attack in the Sheikh Al-Jarrah neighborhood [of Jerusalem]. O Shaher, 1,000 blessings of peace upon you, upon your pure proud spirit. Shaher went out that day to repair his car, but fate wanted him to die as a Martyr, and praise God, Master of the Universe, for everything – Allah decreed, and what He desired He did. Shaher died as a Martyr, and this is [a source of] pride for us, pride for our families, and pride for the entire Islamic, Arab, and Palestinian nation. Raise your head, O nation! Shaher is the pride of the nation, pride for the homeland. From our hearts [we wish] you 1,000 blessings of peace for your pure spirit. We are waiting to receive your pure body, Allah willing, to receive the Martyrdom groom (i.e., Martyr's funeral is considered wedding to the 72 Virgins in Paradise in Islam), so that we will be able to give him all that he deserves, according to what he gave the Islamic and Arab nation. Allah, give us patience, and we are waiting for you, O hero of Palestine.”

Unknown speaker 2: “Today and yesterday, Palestine bid farewell to two Martyrs: heroic Martyr Zuhdi Al-Tawil (i.e., terrorist, wounded 2) from El-Bireh, and heroic Martyr Ahmed Jamil [Fahad] (i.e., Fahad was killed while trying to prevent the arrest of terrorists) from the Al-Amari [refugee] camp.”

Bodies of dead terrorists - In certain instances, Israel does not release the bodies of dead terrorists for burial by their families. There are three main reasons for this practice: First, the measure is seen as a deterrent since the fear of not receiving a proper burial as a “Martyr” or of leaving suffering parents behind may discourage potential terrorists. Second, since 2014 the Hamas terror organization has refused to release the bodies of 2 Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza, and it is also holding 2 Israeli civilians who strayed into Gaza in captivity - the bodies of the terrorists are thus held to facilitate negotiations for their return to Israel. Third, in some instances the bodies of terrorists are not released in order to prevent disturbances of the peace and incitement during the funerals.
