Silent Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount is a “war crime,” says Abbas’ advisor

Official PA TV

Official PA TV host: “An occupation court recognized the Jews’ right to pray in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas (refers to a Jerusalem Magistrates’ Court ruling that Jews do not violate police instructions by silently praying at the Temple Mount, which was later overturned by a Jerusalem District Court ruling -Ed.). The court said that the presence of Jewish worshippers in the Jerusalem Sanctuary (i.e., the Temple Mount) is not a criminal act, as long as their prayers are silent. The court ordered the occupation police to annul a distancing order that was issued against extremist [Rabbi] Aryeh Lipo banning him from visiting the Jerusalem Sanctuary because he prayed there silently. In response to this decision, Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash said that the so-called Israeli court in Jerusalem is a central part of the ongoing Israeli campaign of aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem, and the Palestinian people in general. In a press release that he issued, Al-Habbash described the decision as a new war crime that joins the series of crimes that the so-called court system has committed and is committing against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
