Middle Eastern Jews dream of returning to Arab states, claims PA daily
Excerpt of a column by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily and former advisor to former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on national affairs
Headline: “Israel is not united”
“I do not think that the strategic goals of the Zionist movement and its material base of colonialist Israel are united, because there are many who claimed that the immigrants to the state were not convinced of it and arrived there against their will, as happened with the Russian Jews of Khazar descent (sic., genetic research has proven Jews are not the descendants of Khazars and that they share a common origin in Israel) after the 1917 Bolshevik revolution.
This was because the American administrations and the capitalist Western states at the time conspired with the Zionist movement to direct the immigration to Palestine in order to create its social base. This also happened with extensive sectors of the Arab Jews before the 1948 Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) and after it, when the Zionist gangs forced them to immigrate to historical Palestine for the same goal (sic., Jews in the Middle East immigrated to Israel for ideological reasons and to flee Arab persecution). Despite the disconnection from their countries of origin (i.e., the Arab states), they still dream of returning to them if they will have an opportunity to do so.”
