Abbas congratulates North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un

“Yesterday [Aug. 15, 2021, PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas] congratulated Secretary-General of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Marshal Kim Jong-un for the celebrations of his country’s liberation day.

In a congratulatory telegram, His Honor [Abbas] said that he is making sure to strengthen the bilateral ties that are based on friendship, solidarity, and appreciation, because this is beneficial and is an interest for the two peoples and the two countries. He also expressed his appreciation for North Korea’s positions that support the just cause of the Palestinian people, which is fighting for the sake of its legitimate rights: freedom, independence, and self-determination.”
