Fatah speaker: Palestinians are under occupation for “close to 74 years”

Fatah Commission of Prisoners Spokesman Rami Azarah: “We have been under the yoke of occupation close to 74 years (i.e., since Israel's establishment in 1948). By the way, today is the anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre (see note below -Ed.). There are many massacres and the list is too long to count them, and the series of massacres is still continuing.”

Sabra and Shatila are Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. In 1982, during the first Lebanon War, Muslim residents of the camps were massacred by Christian Phalangists. The PA has a longstanding policy of falsely accusing Israel of committing the massacre or actively helping to carry it out.
