Official PA Daily report on the death of terrorist Uday Al-Tamimi

Headline: “Uday Al-Tamimi: [Died] while charging forward and not fleeing”

“Yesterday, Wednesday [Oct. 19, 2022], the Israeli occupation forces continued their attacks throughout the occupied West Bank. They killed a young person [Uday Al-Tamimi] (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), wounded and arrested many civilians, and continued their siege of Nablus. At the same time, the settlers escalated their crimes when they stabbed a foreign solidarity activist with a knife (refers to confrontation in which Israeli residents say they were attacked by Palestinians and pro-Palestinian activists; PMW was unable to determine the details of the incident -Ed.).

Local sources reported that Uday Al-Tamimi, 22, was shot by the Israeli occupation and died as a Martyr yesterday evening next to the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim, which was established on the lands of the [Palestinian] residents east of occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces fired a hail of bullets at young Al-Tamimi at the entrance to the settlement, and as a result of this he died as a Martyr (sic., Al-Tamimi shot and wounded a security guard, at which other guards returned fire; the shootout was caught on security cameras). They seized his body…

According to Israeli reports, the Martyr confronted the occupation’s security members who were at the entrance to the settlement, and he lightly wounded a guard in his hand. The Israeli reports claimed that the occupation’s security forces found a hand grenade on Martyr Al-Tamimi.

It should be noted that Martyr Al-Tamimi carried out an operation (i.e., terror attack, 1 murdered) on Oct. 8 [2022], at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint, in which a female Israeli soldier was killed.

The Fatah Movement’s northern branches announced a general strike in all fields of life throughout the West Bank today, Thursday, as a sign of mourning for heroic Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi and in condemnation of the occupation’s crimes.

In a press release last night, Fatah called to escalate the confrontations at all the points of friction in the homeland’s districts out of loyalty to the Martyrs and to emphasize the path of national struggle.

The General Union of [Palestinian] Teachers (GUPT) announced that today, Thursday, is a strike day in all the schools in the West Bank. In a short announcement, the GUPT said: ‘Out of mourning for the death of heroic Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi, the daring resistance member, and in accordance with the call of the national forces, tomorrow (today, Thursday) [parentheses in source] is a strike day in all the schools, [education] directorates, and the [PA] Ministry [of Education].’

Immediately after news of Al-Tamimi’s death as a Martyr was published, mass-participant processions were held in a number of areas of the West Bank in condemnation of the occupation’s crime.”
