The Palestinians have a new celeb terrorist murderer - Uday Al-Tamimi

  • Palestinian youths are shaving their heads to look like murderer Al-Tamimi; Parents shaved toddler’s head in gesture to dead terrorist murderer
  • Fatah leader Tawfiq Tirawi: “The cost of liberating the homeland is blood… for its sake the cost of our lives is insignificant”
  • PA vows more terrorists: Terrorist murderer Uday Al-Tamimi “died as a Martyr and we will give birth to another 1,000 Udays”

  • PA editorial praised murderer as “personifying heroism” and stressed that his terror attacks are an expression of “shining Palestinianess,” “national education,” and “ethics of struggle”

  • PA daily: Murderer’s name “is engraved in the Palestinian memory” and “tens of thousands of children in Palestine will be named after you”
  • PA TV song in honor of murderer: “This is our hero… Be blessed, man of heroic acts

Uday Al-Tamimi is the PA and Fatah’s newest celebrity terrorist. The reason for his fame is that he murdered 18-year-old female Israeli soldier Sgt. Noa Lazar and wounded an Israeli security guard at the Shuafat checkpoint in northern Jerusalem last month, and ten days later wounded another Israeli security guard in Ma’ale Adumim, before being shot and killed by guards.

Terrorist Al-Tamimi’s murder of Lazar in a surprise shooting, his roaming free for more than a week, and his final attack on Israeli security guards have earned him a place in the PA’s spotlight of “heroes.” Not only have PA and Fatah officials praised him and his attacks, but Palestinian youth have adopted a trend of shaving their heads to look like Al-Tamimi. And not just youth – official PA TV broadcast a video of a toddler having its head shaved as a tribute to the murderer Al-Tamimi, while a song lauding him was played in the background:

Man: Listen Uday [Al-Tamimi], Uday. This is for Uday.”

Lyrics: “Power, courage, bravery, and manliness

He did not feel frustration for [even] a moment

He humiliated your [Israeli] soldiers

This is our hero, and he is from Shuafat

Be blessed, man of heroic acts

[With] resolve and a fierce desire, he knows no defeat

Your blow is painful, O son of Shuafat”

[Official PA TV, A Tour of Social Media, Oct. 22, 2022]

The PA supported this trend with a cartoon that highlighted the shaved head as the terrorist’s trademark:

Text on cartoon: “Blessings to you

The steel of Palestine”

Palestinian Media Watch has already reported that a physics test in a Palestinian school glorified the murderer by asking students to calculate “the path of the Martyr” from his home to his last attack.

Via its official TV station, the PA has openly endorsed the murderer as the one who “frightened the entire [Zionist] entity.” The PA TV host also vowed that more terrorists will follow, as the PA “will give birth to another 1,000 Udays”:

Official PA TV host: “The solidarity is continuing Uday [Al-Tamimi] (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), even after your death as a Martyr. Uday, whom the occupation pursued more than 10 days, frightened the entire [Zionist] entity, and in the end Uday triumphed through his death as a Martyr, when he charged forward and did not flee...Uday died as a Martyr and we will give birth to another 1,000 Udays, and the story continues.

[Official PA TV, A Tour of Social Media, Oct. 22, 2022]

The young Palestinians themselves also vow to “follow his path”:

“A number of cities in the West Bank were witness to mass processions passing through the streets and roads that condemned the occupation’s crimes and supported Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), who confronted the occupation forces until the last moments and continued to fire until he died as a Martyr.

Dozens of young Palestinians set out on Wednesday evening [Oct. 19, 2022] on spontaneous processions that passed through the streets of the cities Ramallah, Jenin, and Bethlehem and the Shuafat refugee camp, and they condemned Al-Tamimi’s assassination and demanded a response.

During the procession the young people promised Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi to follow his path in resistance to the occupation wherever [the occupation] is found.

[Donia Al-Watan, independent Palestinian news agency, Oct. 20, 2022]

Palestinan Media Watch reported that immediately after the murderer was killed, the PA instructed preachers to praise the murderer as a “hero” and glorify “Martyrdom-death” in the Friday sermons in the mosques.

In an editorial in its official daily, the PA praised the murderer as “personifying heroism.” The PA also used his attacks and consequent death to repeat their glorification of Martyrdom-death, stating that the murderer realized that “death as a Martyr in an epic battle is a certain way to start life with freedom, glory, honor.” Furthermore, the PA stressed that his terror attacks are an expression of “shining Palestinianess,” “national education,” and “ethics of struggle”:

"This colony [Ma’ale Adumim] is like a fortress with guards with the most advanced weapons, but heroism does not care about that. In this case it was personified by none other than Uday Al-Tamimi he understood without a doubt… that death as a Martyr in an epic battle is a certain way to start life with freedom, glory, honor, and peace for Palestine and its residents…

Uday Al-Tamimi… only spoke there with actions, with what he represents and what he is affiliated with, and that is how heroes always are.We will not emphasize here his affiliation with Fatah, but rather his shining Palestinianess, with his national education and his ethics of struggle – and this is what pleases Palestine.

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 23, 2022]

Another article in the PA daily called Al-Tamimi last shooting “a prominent example of a surprise attack.” It stressed that killing Israelis and dying as a Martyr is what makes you famous in the PA, as “now the name of Uday Al-Tamimi is engraved in the Palestinian memory” and “tens of thousands of children in Palestine will be named after you”:

“Regarding the… operation (i.e., terror attack), its hero was young Uday Al-Tamimi. It was a prominent example of a surprise attack, and now the name of Uday Al-Tamimi is engraved in the Palestinian memory. Therefore, the general strike took place – out of love, a salute, and admiration by his people…

Uday Al-Tamimi, you have written your name with the flames of holy fire. From now on we will write your name, and tens of thousands of children in Palestine will be named after you.

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 25, 2022]

Fatah too has expressed its support for the terrorist. One of its spokesmen called his last “a brave operation, an act of heroism”:

Fatah Spokesman in Jenin Fares Abu Al-Wafa: “The situation of Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1) has caused a general national response, because his action was a brave operation, an act of heroism, which gained approval and support from the members of the Palestinian people.”

[Official PA TV News, Oct. 20, 2022]

At a condolences visit with the family of the murderer, Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki said that Al-Tamimi’s “death as a Martyr” and that of another terrorist “caused an awakening and restored the esteem to Hebron,” and that their attacks “are rare acts of heroism.” Zaki added that the “blood that flows on a daily basis from our Martyrs, such as the blood of Uday Al-Tamimi… and the blood of all the Martyrs paves the way for our people to its dream of establishing an independent state whose capital is Jerusalem.” [Facebook page of Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki, Nov. 1, 2022]

Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi paid condolence visits to murderer Al-Tamimi’s family and referred to the murderer as “a hero of Palestine” on social media, where he also spoke of the murderer as if he were a knight who “got down from his horse while charging forward and not fleeing, while recording the most incredible verses of sacrifice”:

Tirawi furthermore glorified “Martyrdom-death,” stating that “the cost of our lives is insignificant” compared to the “liberation of the homeland”:

Posted text: From Jerusalem the compass, the eternal capital, and the headline of every stage until Allah determines the end.

The hero from Shuafat [Uday Al-Tamimi] (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1) got down from his horse while charging forward and not fleeing, while recording the most incredible verses of sacrifice. Uday ascended to Heaven while believing in the message that there is no other, because the cost of liberating the homeland is blood, [the liberation] only passes through Jerusalem, and for its sake the cost of our lives is insignificant. Indeed, Beitunia will pledge loyalty to him as its son Muhammad [Nouri] (i.e., terrorist, participated in violent riots) will illuminate the path of the Martyrs who will come after him, when they set a meeting with victory, freedom, and liberation.

Out of the duty of condolences at the deaths as Martyrs of the heroes of Palestine

Heroic Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi

A son of the Shuafat [refugee] camp and all of Palestine

And heroic Martyr Muhammad Nouri

A son of Beitunia and all of Palestine

Mercy for the heroic Martyrs, a speedy recovery for our heroic wounded, and freedom for the prisoners of freedom”

[Facebook page of Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi, Oct. 21, 2022]

Murderer Al-Tamimi allegedly left a will, in which he stated that his goal was that “following [my] operation hundreds of young [Palestinians] will carry the rifle after me”:

Headline: “Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi’s will”

“I am the wanted man Uday Al-Tamimi from the Shuafat Martyrs’ camp. My operation (i.e., terror attack, 1 murdered) at the Shuafat checkpoint was a drop in the ocean of the raging struggle. I know I will die as a Martyr sooner or later, and I know that I didn’t liberate Palestine with the operation, but I carried it out while setting a central goal: Following [my] operation hundreds of young [Palestinians] will carry the rifle after me.

The wanted man Uday, Oct. 11 [2022]”

[Ma’an, independent Palestinian news agency, Oct. 20, 2022]

Referring to this will, the writer of an op-ed in the official PA daily predicted that “other comrades will join you after they read your will,” and further praised Al-Tamimi:

“O precious son, know that through your great act you have restored our national sun to us, so that it will shine in the long night that our enemy, our antithesis, prepared for us 70 and more years ago…

O precious son, turn towards us… so that you will see our souls that you illuminated with your noble act.

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 23, 2022]

The terror organization Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) praised the murderer and his attacks, stating that “the heroic operation… at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint… shook the occupation’s foundations.” The DFLP further stressed that “the Palestinian people and young people have chosen the path of resistance in all its possible forms (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror) as a way to achieve our people’s goals of removing the occupation.” [Donia Al-Watan, independent Palestinian news agency, Oct. 20, 2022] The DFLP is the third largest member of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

The following are longer excerpts of the reports cited above:

Excerpt of an editorial by the official PA daily

Headline: "Uday Al-Tamimi”

"This colony [Ma’ale Adumim] is like a fortress with guards with the most advanced weapons, but heroism does not care about that. In this case it was personified by none other than Uday Al-Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), who was determined to confront the occupation’s guards and soldiers without consideration for the balance of power… This was after he understood without a doubt that life with the occupation is impossible, and that death as a Martyr in an epic battle is a certain way to start life with freedom, glory, honor, and peace for Palestine and its residents, and even for its [Israeli] neighbors, if they return to the straight path and regain their composure, far from the delusions of racism…

“The general strike last Thursday [Oct. 20, 2022] took place – as was published – following the death of Uday Al-Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1) next to the Shuafat checkpoint in Jerusalem (sic., Al-Tamimi murdered a female soldier at the Shuafat checkpoint, but he escaped and died 11 days later after shooting and wounding a security guard at the entrance to Ma’ale Adumim). Shuafat has become famous for its struggles…

In the first Shuafat battle, the young Palestinians were a group, while the number of dead Israelis was large (PMW was unable to determine the event referred to here -Ed.)…

Regarding the second operation (i.e., terror attack), its hero was young Uday Al-Tamimi. It was a prominent example of a surprise attack, and now the name of Uday Al-Tamimi is engraved in the Palestinian memory. Therefore, the general strike took place – out of love, a salute, and admiration by his people.I swear by Allah Master of the Universe that you, Israeli occupiers, will see from Palestine only examples of extraordinary heroism, which will lead you in the end to defeat.

As for you, Uday Al-Tamimi, you have written your name with the flames of holy fire. From now on we will write your name, and tens of thousands of children in Palestine will be named after you.

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 25, 2022]

“Yesterday [Oct. 20, 2022], the occupation forces invaded the home of Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi’s (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1) grandparents in the Wadi Yasoul neighborhood of the village of Silwan (sic., a predominantly Arab neighborhood near the Old City of Jerusalem, built above ruins of ancient Jerusalem)…

The Fatah Movement in the northern branches and the [Palestinian] National and Islamic Forces declared a general strike on Thursday for the soul of the Martyr and as a sign of condemning the occupation’s crimes. Fatah called to escalate the confrontations at all the points of friction in the homeland’s districts.

[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Oct. 21, 2022]

Excerpt of an op-ed by Hassan Hmeid, a Palestinian writer from Damascus

Headline: “Our souls are going to you!”

“What a gilded sight this is, which reminds us of the sights of the great legends, O beloved son Uday Al-Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1). What love you experienced, and what love experienced you, until you became the picture of our dreams and the joy of our souls. How our children immediately imitated you in their games, and how our young people in the Shuafat refugee camp followed your footsteps and shaved their heads to look like you and to mislead the Israelis more and more. What a difficult path you pioneered, and here is Salah Al-Breiki (i.e., violent rioter killed while participating in confrontations with Israeli soldiers), your comrade, your brother and the brother of your soul, your blood and your steps; yesterday he shaved his head and today (sic., on Oct. 19, 2022) he joined you as a Martyr…

Meanwhile other comrades will join you after they read your will… and they saw you in this one of a kind confrontation, in which you were the illuminated one in the darkness next to the gate of the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim (refers to security camera footage of Al-Tamimi shooting at security guards -Ed.). So do not fear, and do not flee or surrender…

O precious son, know that through your great act you have restored our national sun to us, so that it will shine in the long night that our enemy, our antithesis, prepared for us 70 and more years ago…

O precious son, turn towards us… so that you will see our souls that you illuminated with your noble act.

Headline: “The Democratic Front [for the Liberation of Palestine] eulogized Martyr Al-Tamimi and emphasized that the option of resistance alone is the guarantee for removing the occupation”

“The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) issued a statement today, Thursday [Oct. 20, 2022], in which it eulogized young Uday Al-Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), who died as a Martyr yesterday evening, Wednesday, during a confrontation with the occupation forces next to the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim. This was after he carried out the heroic operation (i.e., terror attack, 1 murdered) 11 days ago at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint, which shook the occupation’s foundations and in which a female soldier of the occupation army was killed and two other soldiers were wounded…

Headline: “Uday Al-Tamimi: [Died] while charging forward and not fleeing”

“Yesterday, Wednesday [Oct. 19, 2022], the Israeli occupation forces continued their attacks throughout the occupied West Bank. They killed a young person [Uday Al-Tamimi] (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), wounded and arrested many civilians, and continued their siege of Nablus. At the same time, the settlers escalated their crimes when they stabbed a foreign solidarity activist with a knife (refers to confrontation in which Israeli residents say they were attacked by Palestinians and pro-Palestinian activists; PMW was unable to determine the details of the incident -Ed.).

Local sources reported that Uday Al-Tamimi, 22, was shot by the Israeli occupation and died as a Martyr yesterday evening next to the settlement of Ma’ale Adumim, which was established on the lands of the [Palestinian] residents east of occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces fired a hail of bullets at young Al-Tamimi at the entrance to the settlement, and as a result of this he died as a Martyr (sic., Al-Tamimi shot and wounded a security guard, at which other guards returned fire; the shootout was caught on security cameras). They seized his body…

According to Israeli reports, the Martyr confronted the occupation’s security members who were at the entrance to the settlement, and he lightly wounded a guard in his hand. The Israeli reports claimed that the occupation’s security forces found a hand grenade on Martyr Al-Tamimi.

It should be noted that Martyr Al-Tamimi carried out an operation (i.e., terror attack, 1 murdered) on Oct. 8 [2022], at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint, in which a female Israeli soldier was killed.

The Fatah Movement’s northern branches announced a general strike in all fields of life throughout the West Bank today, Thursday, as a sign of mourning for heroic Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi and in condemnation of the occupation’s crimes.

In a press release last night, Fatah called to escalate the confrontations at all the points of friction in the homeland’s districts out of loyalty to the Martyrs and to emphasize the path of national struggle.

The General Union of [Palestinian] Teachers (GUPT) announced that today, Thursday, is a strike day in all the schools in the West Bank. In a short announcement, the GUPT said: ‘Out of mourning for the death of heroic Martyr Uday Al-Tamimi, the daring resistance member, and in accordance with the call of the national forces, tomorrow (today, Thursday) [parentheses in source] is a strike day in all the schools, [education] directorates, and the [PA] Ministry [of Education].’

Immediately after news of Al-Tamimi’s death as a Martyr was published, mass-participant processions were held in a number of areas of the West Bank in condemnation of the occupation’s crime.”
