Abbas’ advisor: “European … colonialism planted Israel” to keep Arabs “divided, backwards”

PA Supreme Shari’ah Judge and Abbas’ advisor Mahmoud Al-Habbash: “The [1904] Campbell-Bannerman report said: “European civilization is about to collapse. Western European civilization based on man, on colonialism, on materialism, is about to collapse, because it lacks spirit and faith. The region or nation that is prepared to take its place is the Islamic civilization… because it has unity of religion, unity of language and of history, and it has mighty human resources and natural resources. And in order for us to prevent this…  we must plant a people in the eastern side of the Suez Canal that will be their enemy and our friend.” This is what happened. They planted the occupation - the colonialism. They planted Israel so that it would act so this region and this nation would continue to be divided, backwards, and embroiled in conflict.”

Mahmoud Al-Habbash also serves as Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations.

“The Campbell-Bannerman report” apparently refers to the 1907 Imperial Conference led by then British Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, the minutes of which disprove PA claims of a conspiracy theory to undermine the Middle East".
