Al-Qidwa: "There is a belief among all of us – among the Palestinian people and, I think, also among a large portion of the Arab nations – that Yasser Arafat died as a Shahid (Martyr) as a result of being poisoned by the Israeli side. That is a belief which, to tell the truth, is widely held among us, and we have said this many times. There are many proofs of this, starting with the Israeli actions against the late president, the decision of the Israeli government to bring down Yasser Arafat, and the reiteration of this decision on more than one occasion, the imposition of the bloody military siege on him for a long time, and so on. Also, there are the medical reports, and specifically the French medical report, which give clear indications in this direction, even if it does not provide us with decisive proof."
