The PA accuses Israel of performing “Judaization procedures” on Temple Mount

“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Hatem Al-Bakri condemned extremist Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir’s invasion of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque today, Tuesday [Jan. 3, 2023].

In a press release, Al-Bakri emphasized that this dangerous step comes in the shadow of the agreements on whose basis the current Israeli government was put together, which is the most right-wing in the history of Israel’s governments.

He warned of the consequences of the occupation’s Judaization procedures against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the stability of the entire region,and he held the occupation government responsible for the escalation in general and the recent escalation in particular.

Al-Bakri demanded that the world and its legal and political institutions take urgent and serious action to stop these steps of escalation against our holy sites and places of worship, which are being subjected to violations by the occupation forces.”

The PA and its leaders misrepresent all of the Temple Mount as an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore, they vilify any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock. Israeli police ban Jewish prayer at the Temple Mount because of threats of violence by Palestinians.
