PA does not rule out “armed struggle and military activity,” says Fatah official

Official PA TV program Talk of the Hour, on the International Criminal Court (ICC) decision to launch an investigation against Israel, hosting Fatah Revolutionary Council member Iyad Safi

Official PA TV host: “I am talking about a different type of confrontation with this occupier. In other words, the phase of armed struggle and military activity (i.e., terror attacks) – that may be a phase that has already passed. Now, the variables in the international and regional world require us as Palestinians to act in the political field, where the Palestinians have excelled in practice.”

Fatah Revolutionary Council member Iyad Safi: “The Palestinian leadership’s attitudes are clear – emphasizing our people’s right [to act] with all means of resistance (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to the use of violence and terror) against this occupation, and that peaceful popular resistance is the best and most appropriate way in the shadow of the unequal balance of powers between this occupier and our Palestinian people… The Palestinian political struggle is speaking now about popular resistance against this occupier in all ways.”

The terms “all means,” “all means of resistance,” “all forms,” are ‎used by PA leaders to include using all types of violence, including deadly terror ‎against Israeli civilians such as stabbings and shootings, as well as throwing rocks and Molotov Cocktails.
