At the Palestine Medical Center, the Martyr’s father Muhammad embraced his son and shouted: …‘Whoever loves Diya and loves the Martyrs will not cry, but rather will say that Allah will have mercy on the hero. If ten of my sons had died, they would be a sacrifice for the homeland.’ …

At the yard of the Martyr’s home, the village’s women gathered to console his mother Yussra, who sat in the middle of the yard and waited for the arrival of her son’s body…

Martyr Diya’s aunt repeated: ‘Diya asked for this. For months he said: “If only I would be a Martyr. I am no better than the young people who died as Martyrs.” He said: “Mom, don’t be sad about me and don’t cry over me. Let my aunt cry, not you,” and he repeated this yesterday before he left home.’”
