Jerusalem researcher Fakhri Abu Diab: “I think that the occupation is now planning to gradually change the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, with them starting at the Gate of Mercy… and turning it into a place where they will regularly carry out their Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) rituals and their prayers, in other words, turning it into a synagogue.”
