PA TV visits family of prisoner that carried out shooting attack

PA TV program A Link in the Chain about prisoner Basel Arif, a Palestinian policeman convicted of carrying out a shooting attack near Ofra and given 2 life sentences and another 50 years – according to the program.

Arif's uncle: "[Basel] was born into resistance; he was born into the struggle. What does Basel have to lose? Basel has (i.e., deserves) all the honor because he fought for the sake of this homeland. We are all proud of Basel, the entire Palestinian people is proud of him. Of Basel and of the tens of thousands like Basel."
Released prisoner: “[Basel is] glory for us, for the family, for you, and for the entire Palestinian people."

Note: Marwan Barghouti – serving five life sentences for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli civilians. When arrested in 2002, he headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
