“[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call in which the ties between the two states and the two friendly peoples and the ways to strengthen them were reviewed.

The Russian president congratulated President Abbas and the Palestinian people on the occasion of blessed Eid Al-Adha (i.e., the Muslim “Sacrifice Feast” holiday).

President Putin emphasized Russia’s permanent position, which supports the Palestinian people on everything concerning realizing its hopes and aspirations for freedom, independence, and establishing its independent state whose capital is East Jerusalem.

President [Abbas] briefed his Russian counterpart on the developments concerning the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that Russia’s internal stability is very important to him, and he wished it continued progress and prosperity.”
