PA daily chooses to report on Beit Jala institute's opposition to normalization with Israel
Headline: "'Technological' normalization conference that was meant to be held today in Beit Jala is cancelled"
"Director of the Talitha Kumi Institute in Beit Jala, Jihad Abu Amsha, announced yesterday that the institute would not be hosting the 'Technology for Peace' normalization conference which was scheduled to be held in its facilities for three days, starting today. He confirmed to WAFA that the institute had not hosted, nor would it host, the 'Hackathon Beit Jala' conference. He noted that in the past, the [Talitha Kumi] school had cancelled similar conferences whose character of normalization had become apparent, and that it would continue to do so. Abu Amsha addressed the activity of the 'Youth Who Love the Land' groups, noting that the school had been following their calls to boycott the meeting, on the basis of what had appeared on the Internet site of the [conference's] organizing body… Ali Ubeidat, coordinator of the 'Youth Who Love the Land' group… applauded this move by the Talitha Kumi school, and stated that it was directed against normalization meetings no matter where they take place. He applauded the efforts which had been made in order to fight against this normalization meeting in particular, and all other such meetings. He applauded all the Palestinians who expressed readiness to be present in Beit Jala in order to prevent the meeting immediately upon receiving an invitation from the group."
