PA Grand Mufti: “Homosexuality is forbidden… a disgusting crime”

Official PA TV program Fatwa, hosting Palestinian Supreme Fatwa Council Chairman and PA Mufti Muhammad Hussein

Caller: “What is the law regarding homosexuality among children in the street under the age of 16?”

Official PA TV host: “Under the age of 16?”

Caller: “Yes, if you would.”

Host: “Yes, we will answer [you]. The law regarding homosexuality among children under the age of 16.”

Palestinian Supreme Fatwa Council Chairman and PA Mufti Muhammad Hussein: “In practice homosexuality is forbidden, from age 16 or before it. And therefore we must educate the children about good manners from their childhood. This is the obligation of the parents and the obligation of the school, and afterwards of the university, mosque, and society. This is something that is completely forbidden…

We have the story of the people of Lot, peace be upon him, who Almighty Allah punished and annihilated because they would commit this abominable crime, this crime that contradicts all human sense and the religious and human values and morals (refers to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah recounted in the Bible –Ed.).”

Host: “Yes.”

Muhammad Hussein: “And therefore it is forbidden, not [just] for children and not [just] for those who are not children. And therefore we must educate our children and supervise them, and always guide them correctly. Here we will direct attention to matters- to a number of movies and forbidden things that are on Facebook, Twitter, and others. In other words, we must be vigilant, work diligently on the education of the children, and be careful not to fall into disgusting crimes such as these.”
