Official PA daily: Tel Aviv shooter is a “Martyr”

Headline: “A young person from Rumana died as a Martyr and a Tel Aviv municipal security member was killed in a shooting operation”

“Kamel Mahmoud Kamel Abu Bakr (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), a 27-year-old young person from the village of Rumana west of Jenin, died as a Martyr, and a Tel Aviv municipal security member was killed yesterday evening, Saturday [Aug. 5, 2023], in a shooting operation in the city.

In a video clip that was disseminated by activists on social media, young Abu Bakr is seen lying on the ground and bleeding after he was shot, with his hands cuffed behind his back while he is surrounded by occupation police officers, without aid being offered to him.

According to Israeli reports, ‘The one who carried it out shot at two Tel Aviv municipal inspectors, which caused the wounding of one of them, while the second shot and neutralized him.’”

Kamel Abu Bakr - 22-year-old Palestinian terrorist and Islamic Jihad member who shot and murdered municipal security guard Chen Amir, 42, with a handgun in Tel Aviv on Aug. 5, 2023. Amir's security guard partner shot and killed Abu Bakr, thereby stopping his attack. Abu Bakr carried a note on his body dated from Feb. 25, 2023, in which he declared his intention to die as a "Martyr." He had been wanted for the previous six months in the Jenin area for being involved in shooting at Israelis and for membership in the Islamic Jihad terror organization.
