Shtayyeh: it is the Palestinians right to “resist” Israel and its “crimes”

Headline: “Shtayyeh: Education is a survival strategy, we will not change one letter in our curriculum”

“Yesterday, Wednesday [Aug. 9, 2023], the [PA] Ministry of Education honored the outstanding [students] of the 2022-2023 academic year [high school] matriculation exams, the outstanding disabled [students], and also the relatives of the Martyrs from among the students in their final year of studies. This was at a ceremony held at the ministry’s park in Ramallah… in the presence of [PA] Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh…

Shtayyeh raised the memory of the Martyrs from among the students [in their] last year of high school, and said: ‘The way of the world is that children bury parents, but the occupation is forcing parents to bury their children, because it is murdering children and women. Therefore, it is our right to resist this criminal occupation, which is attacking every place in our land.’

He added… that ‘We will continue to stand firm on this land, and we will continue to defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first direction of [Muslim] prayer, and every grain of soil of the motherland and not just of the state’s homeland (evidently refers to all “Palestine” including Israel, and not just the West Bank and Gaza Strip -Ed.).’ …

The prime minister emphasized that the Palestinian [PA] curriculum will remain national, and that ‘We will not change even one letter in it, regardless of the pressures. We will remain loyal to the Martyrs, the prisoners, the refugees, and Jerusalem, whether the donors pay money or not.’
