Fatah’s “Freedom Prisoners Square” reveals monument with a fist and map, replacing Israel with “Palestine”

The Fatah Commission of Information and Culture posted pictures and text on its Facebook page

The picture shows the inauguration of “Freedom Prisoners Square” in El-Bireh, with Ramallah and El-Bireh District Governor Laila Ghannam seen removing a drape from a new monument in the square featuring a fist holding the PA map of “Palestine” that presents all of Israel together with the PA areas as “Palestine.”

Text on map: “With every night that passes, the determination and fists tighten”

Posted text: “During participation in the inauguration ceremony of Freedom Prisoners Square, which was organized by the El-Bireh Municipality, in the presence of Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ [Affairs] Qadura Fares, El-Bireh Mayor Islam Al-Tawil, a number of local council members, and a number of released prisoners.

We thank the El-Bireh Municipality and emphasize that the prisoners’ cause is at the top of our people’s priorities, and that we are always with them and will continue to stand alongside them and monitor the smallest details of all that is happening in their lives and of their families’ needs, in cooperation with the prisoners’ institutions.

We bless our male and female prisoners in the occupation’s prisons and wish them [that we will] meet when we inaugurate additional places like this square, and we will establish more works of art like these that bear the map of Palestine in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of our independent homeland.
