Fatah’s Rajoub: Hamas’ al-Arouri “was and extraordinary leader… I am among the believers in his ideology, his way, and his activity.”
- Fatah leader Jibril Rajoub: Al-Arouri was an “extraordinary national leader, who was always extraordinary in the way of his struggle (i.e., terror)
- Rajoub: “I am among the believers in his ideology, his way, and his activity”
- Rajoub: “His passing [is] a loss for Fatah just as it is a loss for Hamas”
- Fatah calls West Bank general strike “denouncing the assassination of Hamas senior official, Saleh Al-Arouri”
Confirming Palestinian Media Watch’s assertion that there is that there is little difference between Fatah and Hamas’ attitudes towards Israel, Fatah Secretary Jibril Rajoub has said it in his own words. As part of his condolences following the assassination of Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri yesterday in Beirut, Rajoub said:
“I am among the believers in his ideology, his way, and his activity.”
Hamas’ “ideology” is that Islam demands the destruction of Israel and the extermination of all Jews; Hamas’ “way” is terror and murder; and Hamas’ “activity,” the world just saw in all its horror and atrocities on October 7, which was planned by al-Arouri and his co-terrorists.
Rajoub sees mass murderer arch-terrorist Al-Arouri as an:
“extraordinary national leader, who was always extraordinary in the way of his struggle (i.e., terror).”
Accordingly, Rajoub explains:
“His passing [is] a loss for Fatah just as it is a loss for Hamas.”

The official PA daily published this cartoon to mourn his death, in which he has the rank of “Martyr” on his shoulders:
[Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 3, 2024]
Al-Arouri words appear on the cartoon:
“Our blood and souls are not dearer or more honorable than any Martyr” [Statement by Saleh al-Arouri]
In addition, Fatah called on all the West Bank to join in mourning the Hamas terror leader by observing a general strike:
“A comprehensive strike is being observed Wednesday throughout the governorates of the West Bank, denouncing the assassination of Hamas senior official, Saleh Al-Arouri, and the ongoing crimes of the occupation against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The strike, called by the National Liberation Movement "Fatah" and the national and Islamic forces, affected all aspects of life, and universities, banks, and shops were closed.”
The following are more of the words of condolence by Jibril Rajoub:
Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub;
“We in the Fatah movement, from the leadership and its base, express our condolences to our people, to his family, to the Hamas movement, to all the Palestinian national forces, and all the free people in the world, over [the death of] the extraordinary national leader [Saleh al-Arouri], who was always extraordinary in the way of his struggle (i.e., PA euphemism for terror)... I am among the believers in his ideology, his way, and his activity, and therefore this is a trust upon us that we be loyal, and I am sure that this generation of young people who believe in Palestinian nationalism will also be loyal… including that which concerns perfecting the resistance (i.e., terror) and confrontation with the occupation (i.e., Israel)."
The Host: "When was the last time you met him?"
Rajoub: "I met him on the sixth of October, that's not the point... I am pained by his passing and I see his passing as a loss for Fatah just as it is a loss for Hamas and a Palestinian loss and a loss for the global liberation movement, whether they are Muslim or non-Muslim.”
The PA’s reaction to the death of a mass murderer of Israeli’s hopefully, will finally make it clear to the US and the EU, that Gaza cannot be under Palestinian Authority rule after Israel destroys Hamas.
