Hamas leader Mashaal calls Israel “the occupying enemy” in speech celebrating Fatah-Hamas reconciliation
"President Abbas and Khaled Mashaal signed a declaration of national reconciliation yesterday in Doha (Qatar), under the auspices of the Emir of Qatar"
"Mashaal said: '… I say honestly that we are serious, and all the forces and leaders are with us [in this]. We are serious as regards the healing of wounds, an end to the rift [between Fatah and Hamas], the strengthening and implementation of the reconciliation on the ground, and the strengthening of national unity in all areas… in order that the blood will once again be one, and that the decisions will once again be one, on a basis of partnership, and in order that we can turn to dealing with the occupying enemy.'"
