PA libel: Israel has long planned Gaza war to “transfer Palestinians to an artificial island”
Official PA TV "Israeli affairs expert" Fayez Abbas: "genius" Israeli Foreign Minister [Israel] Katz proposed to establish an [artificial] island for the coasts of the Gaza Strip, and to transfer the Gazan residents to this island in the sea, and he presented a video on this which he had prepared when he was... minister of transport … Israel was already planning this island four to five years ago… This proves that Israel has been planning what is happening now in the Gaza Strip (i.e., the 2023 Gaza war) for three to four years… This proves that Israel planned to commit war crimes and a transfer of the Palestinians from their homes and land." …
Fatah Tubas Branch Secretary Mahmoud Sawafta: "They [Israel] are trying to suffocate the Palestinian person, and this is as a precedent for their strategic project, which is expelling the Palestinian from his land, as one of the occupation's (i.e., Israel's) ministers said: "We'll make an artificial island for them in the [Mediterranean] Sea and we'll send them to the artificial island."

At a meeting with EU counterparts on Jan. 22, 2024, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz suggested to build a port for Gaza on an artificial island to check incoming goods, not for transfer of Palestinians.
