Hamas: Nasrallah’s killing is “opening of a new stage of holy revenge”

Hamas vows:

  • "This will be... a new stage of holy revenge" against "the Zionist enemy"

  • Israel "is marching towards inevitable destruction at the hands of the jihad fighters"

  • "Hamas, Hezbollah, and all the forces of resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region will continue on the path of jihad and resistance"

Hamas about Nasrallah:

  • He was "a great jihad commander" and "distinguished leader"

Following Israel's assassination of Hezbollah terror leader Hassan Nasrallah last week, Hamas issued several statements eulogizing the arch-terrorist responsible for thousands of deaths, most recently in terror attacks and missile attacks on Israel.

Hamas also threatened Israel – "the Zionist enemy" – that the response to Israel's attack and assassination of Nasrallah, which was a "treacherous and cowardly Zionist attack," and a "terrorist act", will be:

Hamas promised Israel more terror, certain of their Hezbollah brothers' "ability to rearrange their ranks and continue on the path on which sir Hassan Nasrallah walked." Hamas again confirmed that Israel's "destruction" by "jihad fighters" is the ultimate goal:

"We are completely certain that Hezbollah will overcome this severe blow, and that the leader will be replaced by capable leaders who will continue the path that the Martyr outlined with his blood and the blood of his comrades; and that the enemy's terrorist leadership, which is experiencing a temporary euphoria and is increasing its criminal acts, will understand soon that it is marching towards inevitable destruction at the hands of the jihad fighters and the loyal among our people.

This is jihad, victory or Martyrdom

"Martyr Hassan Nasrallah left behind men bearing the flag and continuing on the path to Jerusalem, and they will continue to take part in ‘the Al-Aqsa Flood' (Hamas' name for its Oct. 7 attack) and in supporting the Gaza Strip in its war."

"Hamas, Hezbollah, and all the forces of resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region will continue on the path of jihad and resistance, while certain of the necessity of victory."

Hamas eulogized arch-terrorist Nasrallah as:

"A great jihad commander"

"A distinguished leader who lived as a jihad fighter"

A man whose "hands did not waver, and he continued to take action in all arenas to defend the [Muslim] nation's honor and sovereignty"

A man who "in the entire period of his leadership, did not stop giving every kind of support to our [Hamas'] resistance"

"standing alongside our Palestinian people during ‘the Al-Aqsa Flood', the holy and noble war defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites"

"Sir Hassan Nasrallah died as a Martyr after a life full of sacrifice... until he merited what the free people and noble ones hope for – his Martyrdom-death on the difficult path."

Palestinian Media Watch reported yesterday that the PA and Fatah likewise have condemned Israel for assassinating Nasrallah, portraying Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as drinking Palestinian and Lebanese blood.

The following are longer excerpts of the statements cited above:

Posted text: "(1) A summary of the statement by Hamas Movement Deputy Head in the Gaza Strip [and Hamas] Political Bureau member Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya, in a eulogy of Hezbollah Secretary-General Martyr Hassan Nasrallah

  • Al-Hayya: We eulogize a distinguished leader who lived as a jihad fighter… and met his Lord as a Martyr, while in his lion's den…

  • We eulogize sir Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah and his jihad fighter comrades who ascended with him to Heaven in the treacherous and cowardly Zionist attack…

  • The Zionist occupation's (i.e., Israel's) assassination of brother jihad fighter sir Hassan Nasrallah and his leader comrades is a fully terrorist act, a violation of Lebanon's sovereignty, and an expansion of the cycle of aggression. The occupation will bear responsibility…

  • The Zionist occupation will not succeed in breaking the will of the brave resistance, but rather this will be an opening of a new stage of holy revenge for all the blood that is spilled.

Martyr leader Nasrallah's blood is poured on the blood of [Hamas Political Bureau Chairman] leader Martyr [Ismail] Haniyeh, and the blood of [Hamas Political Bureau Deputy Chairman] Martyr leader Saleh Al-Arouri, may Allah have mercy on them, and the blood of tens of thousands of Martyrs of Palestine and Lebanon, and the blood of the Martyrs of the [Muslim] nation in ‘the Al-Aqsa Flood' Battle (Hamas' name for its terror war against Israel; see note below -Ed.) on the path to liberating Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Posted text: "A military announcement by the Martyr Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades (i.e., Hamas' military wing)

The Martyr Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades leadership sends sincere condolences to the dear brothers in Hezbollah, brothers in arms in the war of defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to the dear Lebanese people, the leaders of the axis of resistance, and the entire public of our [Muslim] nation, over the Martyrdom of Hezbollah Secretary-General great jihad commander sir Hassan Nasrallah, who ascended to Heaven as a Martyr with a number of his comrades in a criminal assassination operation that was carried out by the Zionist enemy…

Today we bid farewell to a jihad fighter leader who was at the top of the Zionist entity's wanted [list]. In the period of his leadership, Hezbollah leveled up and its power rose. His leadership also constituted a basis for raising the ties with the Palestinian resistance, and foremost among it the Al-Qassam Brigades. In the entire period of his leadership, he did not stop giving every kind of support to our resistance.

In credit of Martyr leader Hassan Nasrallah his historical page is recorded of standing alongside our Palestinian people during ‘the Al-Aqsa Flood' (Hamas' name for its terror war against Israel; see note below -Ed.), the holy and noble war defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites; and also his firm refusal to stop the support front for the Gaza Strip, in spite of all the enormous sacrifice by Lebanon and Hezbollah with fighters and leaders – which reached their peak with his self-sacrifice for the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the mixing of his blood with the blood of Palestine's Martyrs and its jihad fighter leaders, in a most lofty image of unity, cooperation, and brotherhood in arms on the path to liberating Jerusalem.

We are completely certain that Hezbollah will overcome this severe blow, and that the leader will be replaced by capable leaders who will continue the path that the Martyr outlined with his blood and the blood of his comrades; and that the enemy's terrorist leadership, which is experiencing a temporary euphoria and is increasing its criminal acts, will understand soon that it is marching towards inevitable destruction at the hands of the jihad fighters and the loyal among our people.
