US supports Israel because “Israel’s revival is the coming of the ‎messiah” - Palestinian academic

Director of Jerusalem Research Center at Al-Quds University Ahmed Rafiq Awad: "It may be that we and the Israelis will reach an agreement, because we are trapped in lethal fighting… America does not want this. America thinks that its support for Israel is divine support. This is divine support, and they need to support Israel until the savior comes, their messiah [Jesus]. The American support for Israel partially, or even for the most part, stems from the idea that Israel's revival is the coming of the messiah."
