PA TV “expert” says dead Israeli researcher was in Lebanon to plant invented Jewish antiquities”

Official PA TV, on the killing of 71-year-old Israeli archaeologist Maj. Ze'ev Erlich in a shooting attack by Lebanese terrorists at an archaeological fortress in southern Lebanon during the 2023 Gaza war – see note below

Official PA TV "Israeli affairs expert" Fayez Abbas: "The operation in southern Lebanon in which [Ze'ev Erlich] was killed- a 70-year-old [Israeli] civilian who works as an archaeologist. Look how they define him: 'A researcher of antiquities of the Land of Israel.' So, what was he doing in a fortress in southern Lebanon? … Apparently, he came to look for Jewish signs in southern Lebanon… A commander in the Golani unit brought him into Lebanon, and he came to a fortress in one of the Lebanese villages, where he began to look for the history of the Jews – in Lebanon… I suspect that he went perhaps to put some antiquities there that were found in certain [other] places. In other words, they invented kinds of antiquities to put there and say: Here are Jewish antiquities. Look how far [they go], how they have begun to plan."
