PA daily promotes libel that a Jew set fire to Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1969

"The [official Palestinian Authority] WAFA News Agency conducted a learning tour in the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., the Cave of the Patriarchs), accompanied by the head of the Department of Custodians, Sheikh Hijazi Abu Sneina, to see at close hand the main characteristics, the developments, and the changes created by the occupation (i.e., Israel) in this Islamic structure… The Saladin Podium, located on the western side of the Mihrab (prayer niche), is a rare treasure, and is one of the most ancient podiums… Abu Sneina said: 'There were three models of this podium: the one currently located in the Ibrahimi Mosque; another that was in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and was set on fire by the extremist Jews in 1969; and a similar podium created by the Jordanian government [to replace it]."
