Hamas’ war harmed Palestinian laborers working in Israel. Before war: 160,000, after war: 40,000
Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute – MAS Director-General Raja Al-Khaledi: "The numbers reached 160,000 [Palestinian laborers in Israel] on the eve of the war (i.e., the 2023 Gaza war)… Israel was [moving] in the direction that it was prepared to receive [them]… and it announced: ‘We are prepared to absorb 400,000 [Palestinian laborers].' That was the direction before the war. Out of 160,000, there are perhaps 40,000 laborers who are now working [in Israel], if not more, secretly and not [secretly]… There is a certain number that is still [working], but the majority are sitting in their villages and our cities and seeking a livelihood."
