Abbas’ advisor: Hamas and Israel are “partners in crime,” harming the Palestinian people
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "This aggressive war that is being conducted unilaterally, which is the Israeli occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip and also in the West Bank… It is now clear that it has a defined, known, and pre-declared objective, which is to expel our people from the Gaza Strip. In other words: The start of the plan to eliminate the Palestinian cause. Israel exploited what happened on Oct. 7, [2023] (i.e., Hamas' launch of terror war) in the most despicable way to carry out this plan… The Israeli response was a pre-planned response... Hamas is a criminal. A criminal. And a partner of the occupation (i.e., Israel) in this crime for which the Palestinian people is paying the price...
From 2007 until now, the Gaza Strip has experienced six meaningless wars. … Do I want to go to a national war while I am subject to the agenda of a certain state (i.e., Iran) or organization that has no connection to Palestine? ...
Now, between the [Jordan] River and the [Mediterranean] Sea, we are more numerous, we are the majority. Thus, the demographic balance is in our favor.
