Syrian commentator claims Israeli hostages held by Hamas – among them civilians - are “prisoners of war”
Syrian commentator Husam Taleb: "To be honest, the Europeans are acting [for Palestine], but what are the Europeans telling us? Every word of theirs is: Release the [Israeli] hostages so we will be able to help you. According to international law, the people who are with Hamas are prisoners of war because Israel, even the Gaza Envelope area (i.e., in sovereign Israel), is Palestinian territory according to the UN partition agreement."
