Steps at ICC against Israeli nuke and supporting Iranian nuke

Official PA TV program Capital of Capitals

Syrian lawyer Muhammad Na'im Akbik: "Today there is an ongoing ‘game' with the law that we must also ‘play.'

This enemy [Israel], do they not say about it that it strictly adheres to the law? It claims it is defending itself from Iran and that Iran has a nuclear project. Fine, and you [the Israeli enemy], where is your nuclear project? Why isn't the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) coming to monitor these [Israeli nuclear facilities]? How is it that only you have an enemy [that necessitates a nuclear project]?

...

The Zionists- of course, we respect the Jews and we have no conflict with the Jew who has a divine religion, but [we oppose] whoever has a Zionist ideology, a colonialist ideology, an ideology that advocates territorial expansion. In other words, what does it mean that today you control the whole world? In other words, [the international community] is being influenced by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu? This is a very important question…

Today I am angry at the [world's] negligence regarding what is happening. This is not how the problem is solved."

Official PA TV host: "Although moves were made in the past, we had a peak period regarding making these moves vis-à-vis the international legal system, whether at the [UN] International Court of Justice (ICJ) or at the International Criminal Court (ICC). We made a move that was very important and prominent. However, suddenly with the cessation of the war and its renewal, it seemed as if we had entered a new phase of this war and then this phase of these court trials ended (refers to Hamas' Oct. 7 war on Israel; see note below -Ed.). Why did the discourse about international law and about the steps of the international legal system fade with the renewal of the war?"

Muhammad Na'im Akbik: "Regarding states, it may be that slow [legal] proceedings will be taken [at the ICJ], but the proceedings are enough for me, in other words, the decision it made regarding the proceedings…

You tell me that today you [Israel] adhere to legitimate [self-]defense. What legitimate [self-]defense is this? If only they would explain it to me. In other words, the territories into which the Palestinian resistance (i.e., terror) entered, ...they entered the occupied land of Palestine (sic.) and did not enter a country that received recognition within the framework of [UN] Resolution No. 273 (i.e., granting Israel UN membership). So what legitimate [self-]defense are you talking about?

What exactly is the aggression being committed against you? After all, you are an occupier! You are not carrying out self-defense…

I agree to the partition resolution (see note below -Ed.), but don't laugh at us and talk about [establishing] the State of Palestine according to the June 4, 1967 [borders]. Where did you make 30% of the land of Palestine disappear for us?

Today in the West Bank [the Israeli towns] are a cancerous expansion."
