Fatah official: “I bow my head in love, respect and pride toward the Martyrs”
Yahya Rabah, member of the Fatah Leadership Committee in Gaza and regular columnist for the official PA daily:
"First of all, I bow my head in love, respect and pride towards the Martyrs (Shahids) and the injured who fell on the national battlefield against the Israeli occupation in Gaza, two days ago (see below – ed.). They are all… from respected, well-known families who have mobilized powerfully for the present Palestinian revolution. An example is the hero from the Abu Tir family, who started a battle with the occupation forces, fought alone for a long time, and killed one of the armed Israeli soldiers before falling as a Martyr, despite the tremendous advantage of the enemy!!! ... You know that the Israeli enemy - who has occupied all of Palestine, from the furthest point in Rafiah to the furthest point in Rosh HaNikra (i.e., Israel’s most northern coastal point); from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea – acts in this way [occupation], through various means… Oh Fedayeen (self-sacrificing fighters, someone prepared to die for a cause): You are Martyrs and you live with your Creator, and He takes care of you. Your hands are not stained with Palestinian blood, and your conscience does not carry the pain of the crime of Palestinian division [between factions]. I love you [Martyrs]; I support you. You live with your Lord and with your people, while the people of division and their cronies – it is they who are dead."
Note: On Friday, June 1, 2012, a terrorist infiltrated Israeli territory near the Kissufim crossing in Gaza. He was spotted and Israeli soldiers were dispatched towards him. The terrorist opened fire on the soldiers, killing one of them.
