Norwegian FM dismisses PMW documentation about PA salaries for prisoners
Following PMW’s exposure of the PA policy of paying salaries to imprisoned terrorists, the Norwegian Foreign Minister dismissed the concern about how the PA uses Norwegian aid.
Answer in Parliament by Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre:
“I condemn all forms of hate propaganda and incitement to terrorism, no matter on which side of the conflict the parties reside. Such attitudes and actions are not consistent with Norwegian foreign policy interests and message, and we do our utmost to ensure that Norwegian supported projects do not contribute to spreading such attitudes. We achieve this through quality assurance and close follow up on our partners and their work. Questions about hate propaganda and incitement to violence is an issue that we regularly bring up in our dialogue with [our] Palestinian and international partners. We feel this is something that is being taken seriously also by the Palestinian authorities.”
