PA TV guest: Israel wants to build the Temple over the Dome of the Rock
PA TV program Good Morning Jerusalem interviews Khalil Al-Tafakji – Director of the Arab Studies Society on the topic of dividing the Al-Aqsa Mosque:
Al-Tafakji: "At one of the conferences, a person presented me [with a question]… 'Why do you not permit the Jews to build a synagogue (on the Temple Mount) in between the Dome of the Rock and the Huta Gate, in other words, in available space?'… Ten years later I came back to that person, who is from the Saudi Kingdom, and he asked me the same question. I told him, 'The matter that you spoke to me about, is already quite outdated, because today Israel does not want to build on (an empty space of) the Al-Aqsa plaza; it wants to build the Israeli synagogue or the Israeli Temple in place of the Dome of the Rock."
