Allowances to Martyrs’ families increase by $75 million

“[Secretary-General of The National Association of the Families of the Martyrs of Palestine Muhammad] Sbeihat called attention to a series of achievements and demands that it was possible to meet, including the increase in the allowances to the Martyrs’ families, approved by the Prime Minister, so that a family of a Martyr, and especially of married [Martyrs], now receive a reasonable allowance. He noted that 17,000 families of Martyrs and wounded in the homeland and 12,000 families in the Diaspora are enjoying these increases (i.e., of the allowances), which jumped in the Diaspora from 2 million to 4.8 million dollars [per month], in other words an increase in allowances of an estimated 33 million dollars a year. The total increase in the homeland and abroad is 75 million dollars [a year].”
