PLO official spreads libel that Israel carried out the Sabra and Shatila massacre
Headline: "Dr. Zakariya Al-Agha demands prosecution of Sabra and Shatilla massacre perpetrators, and international defense for our people"
"PLO Executive Committee member and head of the Prisoners' Affairs Administration, Dr. Zakariya Al-Agha… stated that the Sabra and Shatila massacre was a despicable crime carried out by the Israeli occupation government, and on direct orders from the criminal Sharon (i.e., then-Israeli Defense Minister Ariel Sharon)."
Note: Sabra and Shatila are Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. In 1982 during the first Lebanon War, a massacre at Sabra and Shatila was committed against Muslims by Christian phalangists in Lebanon. The PA has a longstanding policy of falsely accusing Israel of committing the massacre or actively helping to carry it out.
