Egyptian academic: US start of Iran war was “diplomatic betrayal”
Al-Farabi Institute of Political Studies President and Egyptian researcher Mukhtar Ghobashi: "The US started this war (i.e., Operation Roaring Lion) with a diplomatic betrayal, as Russian President Putin declared, [saying] that there is a massive diplomatic betrayal that was carried out by the US, [manifested] in the assassination of [Iranian Supreme Leader] Ayatollah Khamenei and a very large part of the pillars of his regime (i.e., senior Iranian officials), while conducting negotiations that were not declared a failure."
