Israel is “the enemy of humanity, not [only] of the Palestinian people” – Palestinian academic
Official PA TV host: "The Israeli occupation authorities continue to close the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and prevent worshippers from reaching it… under the pretext of the security situation related to the American-Israeli against Iran. The [PA] Jerusalem District... emphasized that what is taking place cannot be regarded as temporary security measures, as the occupation authorities claim, but rather as part of a political and ideological campaign aimed at altering the existing religious, historical, and legal reality at Al-Aqsa Mosque."
Bethlehem University political science lecturer and former PA Deputy Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Sa'id Yaqin: "Jerusalem… is also the strongest symbol in this conflict, which is being waged with this enemy (i.e., Israel). This is the enemy of humanity and not [only] of the Palestinian people."

Israel closed the Temple Mount due to security concerns of Iranian rocket fire during the American-Israeli war against Iran. The ban on public gatherings at holy sites and elsewhere applied to all sites and all religions.
