Iran should have fired more missiles at Israel in Oct. 7 war - Palestinian Authority complains
The Palestinian Authority, in its official daily, complained that Iran didn't launch more missiles against Israel during the Oct. 7 war, but instead left Hamas to fight alone:
"Some are wondering today, with or without amazement, where these missiles were during the Zionist and religious Israel's war against the Gaza Strip."
[Official PA daily editorial, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, March 26, 2026]
The PA argued that had Iran cared about the Palestinians and not "abandoned Hamas," the outcome of the Oct. 7 war would have been different:
"If at the time Iran had launched a quarter of the missiles it has launched on Jordan and the Arab Gulf states, the course of that war would have changed, and perhaps it would have even stopped in its first month."

During the Oct. 7 war, Palestinian Media Watch exposed the PA's changing attitudes toward Iran. In earlier bulletins, PMW noted that as Iran's nuclear program was destroyed, the Palestinian Authority began turning against it. Previously, Fatah's terror wing had celebrated Iranian missiles and their goal of "eliminating Israel from existence." More recently, the Palestinian Authority has mocked Iran, suggesting that Palestinians kill Israelis more effectively than Iranian missiles do. Additionally, the Palestinian Authority has stated that Hamas "brought hell on the Palestinian people," serving their Iranian "masters."
In the current war, PMW has documented that the PA has been silent about the American-Israeli attack on Iran and has condemned only Iranian missiles targeting Arab states. The Palestinian terror organizations openly mourned Khamenei, while the PA had no comment. The PA's greatest worry is that the war with Iran will "erase" the Palestinian issue from the daily news.
The following is a longer excerpt of the PA's editorial:
"In the current war, Iran has revealed that it has countless ballistic missiles so far. Some are wondering today, with or without amazement, where these missiles were during the Zionist and religious Israel's war against the Gaza Strip (i.e., Israel's counterattack on Hamas), as a central party in the ‘axis of resistance,' which [Iran] led...
Where were these missiles when this war reaped innocent people in the Gaza Strip, under the pretext of responding to Hamas' ‘[Al-Aqsa] Flood' (Hamas' name for its attack-Ed.), which Iran said that the blood of [IRGC Quds Force Commander Qasem] Soleimani is this flood? ...But it abandoned Hamas alone in the flood, and said it knew nothing about it and had no connection to it!
If at the time Iran had launched a quarter of the missiles it has launched on Jordan and the Arab Gulf states, the course of that war would have changed, and perhaps it would have even stopped in its first month."
