Palestinian refugee: “Jordan is our land… we did not feel as strangers in this homeland”

Resident of Baqa'a refugee camp in Jordan Issa Ayesh: "Jordan is our land. We came from our land to our land. The West Bank was part of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and therefore we did not feel that we were strangers in this homeland. We considered ourselves as one people, in the West Bank and here, because we all came from the West Bank to the East Bank, which were under the rule of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on both of its banks."
