Foreign aid amounts to PA reach 1.6 billion shekels in the first 9 months of 2025

Headline: "Foreign aid to the PA treasury stands at 1.6 billion shekels over nine months – a 6.7% annual decrease" 

"Recent official data showed that the total foreign funding and aid to the [PA] government treasury reached 1.58 billion [Israeli] shekels (just under $499 million -Ed.) by the end of the first nine months of the current year [2025]. 

According to the [PA] Ministry of Finance data, foreign aid to the government treasury decreased by 6.7% on an annual basis, after it stood at 1.69 billion shekels (just over $533 million -Ed.) in the corresponding period last year. 

One of the most prominent supporters of the PA treasury in the first nine months of the year is the European Union (EU), and this is through the Palestinian-European mechanism for supporting and managing social and economic aid. This aid amounted to about 769 million shekels (over $242 million -Ed.). Just following this is the aid from Saudi Arabia totaling 101 million shekels (just under $32 million -Ed.). France provided 31 million shekels (just under $10 million -Ed.), and Norway 68 million shekels (just over $21 million -Ed.). 

The World Bank granted 291 million shekels (just under $92 million -Ed.) as aid to the treasury of Palestine in the first nine months, and the aid that was provided under the definition ‘development funding' amounted to 324 million shekels (over $102 million -Ed.).
