List of countries that renewed their funding to UNRWA
Headline: "The Supreme Committee to Defend the Right of Return: The American-Israeli plot to eliminate UNRWA failed and the time has come to stop the policy of collective punishment"
"The Supreme Committee to Defend the Right of Return felt that the decisions made by the donor states to renew funding [to UNRWA] confirm the failure of the current Israeli-American project to eliminate the Palestinian refugees' cause and the right of return through UNRWA, and that these states made their decisions to renew the funding after the truth became clear to them regarding the Israeli lies (sic., refers to international backlash against UNRWA over its documented involvement in Hamas' terrorism during the 2023 Gaza war; see note below)…
The European Commission announced the provision of approximately $90 million and the release of sums of frozen European Union (EU) aid totaling $54 million.
Sweden announced its intentions to provide $20 million, Canada - $25 million, Qatar - $25 million, Iraq - $25 million, and France announced that it is committed to supporting UNRWA. This is in addition to the positive positions announced by a number of European states, which confirmed their commitment to financial support for UNRWA in spite of the decisions to freeze [funding], including Norway, which announced the provision of approximately $26 million; Spain, which has increased its support from approximately $5 million in 2023 to $20 million; Belgium, which provided approximately $7 million in 2023; and Ireland with $6 million."
