Abbas' advisor: Oct. 7 was "legal and a sacred thing", must plan deceitfully like when Muhammad conquered of Mecca
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "When we come to judge Oct. 7. (i.e., Hamas' Oct. 7 war on Israel), resistance to the occupation (i.e., terror) in itself is a legal, even sacred thing. You will not find any Palestinian, Muslim, or even a normal person who can dispute this principle. Resistance to the occupation is legal… However, resistance to the occupation must be placed within a comprehensive framework, in a comprehensive context, of capabilities, readiness, and preparation, analysis of the results and consequences, and analysis of the circumstances… When [Prophet Muhammad] left for Medina, he did not start committing acts of violence but rather began to establish the foundations of society... He never even once initiated any offensive action. After that, he is the one who signed the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, which some of his followers... saw as a kind of oppression and injustice to the Muslims. But he agreed to it, and he was the one who conquered Mecca by force, not by agreement… When looking at Oct. 7, resistance to the occupation is legal, and action against the occupation is legal, and no one can discuss, dispute, or oppose this issue."
