Breaking news: Palestinian Authority pays terrorists of “the three fighting sectors”
Today at 5:41 PM, the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Finance began paying grants of 1,500 shekels "to the three fighting sectors: the wounded, the prisoners, and the relatives of the Martyrs," i.e., Pay-for-Slay payments to Palestinianterrorists. Currently, there are 4,900 Palestinian terrorists in prison and over 20,000 families of Martyrs within the PA areas, in addition to over 13,000 outside the PA areas.
This special grant of 1,500 shekels is not a regular monthly salary but is part of the backpay for the "fighting sector" terrorists. It was made now in response to public protests, which included a sit-in strike by terrorists' family members. The PA and the terrorists' representatives are also to begin negotations next week regarding the mechanism of monthly salary payments. The grant was made directly through the PA Finance Ministry, and not through PNEEI, which had been given management of many of the payments to terrorists since Sept. 2025, under the PA's revision of Pay-for-Slay.
The following are the official announcements on Palestinian Telegram channels:

'We announce the cessation of our sit-in strike, after we reached an agreement with the "Domestic Peace Committee" in the Ministry of Interior, and with the released prisoners in the homeland and abroad, and with the relevant bodies – which stipulates the payment of part of the salaries on Sunday, May 24, 2026, to the three fighting sectors: the wounded, the prisoners, and the relatives of the Martyrs… We emerged with heads held high – because we only demanded a legal right, and honor that befits our sacrifice.'
