Former PA Minister of Justice: We must “prosecute” Israel and “transfer documentation to the ICC“

This is further evidence of Palestinian involvement in supporting ICC action against Israel, even though U.S. law bars funding to the PA if the Palestinians initiate or actively support an ICC investigation targeting Israeli nationals.

Dr. Muhammad Shalaldeh, former PA Minister of Justice: "There is a case being conducted before the International Court of Justice (ICC), and we are waiting for the ICC to issue a ruling regarding the accusation of Israel committing the crime of genocide [in Gaza]...  as the Palestinian people and as victims exposed daily to the most severe and serious violations by the settlers, we have only the option to turn to the ICC. Proper legal and scientific documentation must be carried out, based on legal and scientific foundations, to file personal and collective lawsuits before national judicial systems, local courts, regional instances, and also before the global judicial system, represented through the principle of universal jurisdiction… It is time to activate the legal, judicial, political, diplomatic, and economic mechanisms — including imposing a boycott — against the occupying regime…What Israel is doing in the city of Jerusalem is considered a violation... The time has come for us to act to prosecute [those responsible for this] and pursue them legally, through documenting these recurring crimes, and by transferring them to the ICC together with very important documents."

Dr. Shalaldeh is also a member of the PA's interim constitution drafting committee and lecturer in international law.
