Fatah spokesman: PA Chairman Abbas will continue to “embrace” terrorist “heroes”
A Fatah spokesman is openly affirming that Abbas will continue to "embrace" imprisoned and released terrorists as "heroes" and ensure their integration into Fatah's senior leadership despite international pressure.
Fatah spokesman in Egypt Iyad Nasser: "Regarding the Fatah Movement, when we examine the Eighth [Fatah] Conference and how the movement succeeded in ensuring that some of its sons - the prisoners, the exiles, and the released (i.e., terrorists) - would be members of the Central Committee and the Revolutionary Council, this is clear evidence of the movement's interest in its prisoners. At the same time, there are serious efforts, despite the restrictions imposed on the Palestinian leadership concerning the prisoners, the wounded, and the families of the Martyrs. I think that according to the challenging state declared by the [PA] president [Abbas] many times, he will continue to embrace these heroes and their families and our wounded."
