Abbas’ advisor: The Temple Mount and the Western Wall is “an Islamic waqf”
Abbas' advisor is absurdly denying the Jewish religious and historical connection to Judaism's holiest sites.
Official PA radio host: "Israel, by effectively obstructing the [Jordanian] Islamic Waqf Department, is actually taking its [the Waqf's] powers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and therefore it will Judaize, whether openly or even secretly, and take over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. There is indeed concern about it due to its plans that aim to destroy Al-Aqsa and build the alleged Temple in its place."
PA Chairman Abbas' Advisor on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "Everything the occupation authorities (i.e., Israel) have done indicates this… The danger now is the actual division, meaning full control over part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, whether small or large, because this will establish a change in the existing legal and historical status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and will constitute a blatant attack against the Jordanian Hashemite custodianship of the holy places and a violation of international law. According to international law and international bodies, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, with all its courtyards, corridors, walls, benches, and buildings, is an Islamic waqf (i.e., an inalienable religious endowment in Islamic law), including the Al-Buraq Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple)."
